Resolved Question

samsung hwh450 soundbar. randomly turning on

May 20, 2015 6:37AM PDT

Hello.
Sat here this evening with the TV turned off and the soundbar turned on, changed to bluetooth and then started to play some music.
How? It has never done this before and it wasn't one of my devices.

Can the bluetooth feature be disabled as I wont use it and to stoo it happening again.

I turned the soundbar off after changing it back to D.IN, but it soon came back on changed itself to Bluetooth and started playing music again.

Thank you

Try Bluetooth power off feature. From the manual.

"Using the Bluetooth POWER On
function
The Bluetooth POWER On function is available after
you have successfully connected the Soundbar to a
Bluetooth compatible TV using TV SoundConnect.
When the Bluetooth POWER On function is ON,
turning the connected TV on or off will turn the
Soundbar's power on and off as well.
1. Connect the TV to your Soundbar using the TV
SoundConnect function.
2. Press the Bluetooth POWER button on the
Soundbar remote. "BLUETOOTH POWER ON"
appears on the Soundbar's display.
-BLUETOOTH POWER ON : The Soundbar turns
on and off when you turn the TV on or off.
-BLUETOOTH POWER OFF : The Soundbar
only turns off when you turn the TV off."

Hmm

But both the TV and the Soundbar were off. The TV stayed off and the soundbar turned on without me touching it.

Would this still stop it turning on without my TV turning on also?

Sorry.

I took a quick look at possible fixes. I know folk want a solid answer and sadly I found no full disable setting but this looked like it could stop some device from turning it on and creating the annoyance noted in the top post.

Sorry but it's the best answer I have today.

I will give it a go. As I say it hasn't happened in the last 8 weeks of living here. I live in a semi detatched so next door's bluetooth devices could easily get to my devices.
I will give it a go and see. For tonight it is unplugged because if there is no underlying reason. I don't want it to be turning on during the night Happy
