You could have found a combo that doesn't work.
I have already fired off note to Samsung but hoping I may get some help here...
Simply put, there is no sound output from the TV from my blu ray player.
TV Model: UE55HU8200TXXU - S/W: V1038
Blu Ray: Panasonic BDT360 - S/W: 1.38
It has been a few weeks since i have used my blu ray player and in the meantime the only thing i can recall changing is a software update to the TV.
However, this is what I have tried thus far to diagnose the issue
a) Config: ensured that audio over HDMI is enabled on the blu ray player
b) Cable: tried a different HDMI cable (a known working one from another device attached to the tv - in fact i swapped the cables between the blu ray and STB devices and the problem stayed with the blu ray TV input
c) Device: proven that the original cable plus blu ray work by attaching to another TV
d) HDMI inputs: swapped HDMI inputs between STB and blu ray so now using a different input and once again the fault stayed with the channel the blu ray is on.
What I think I have proven is that:
1) all HDMI inputs to the TV work
2) all cables work
3) the blu ray works (on another TV)
What I am concluding is that, given the only change I am aware of since this last worked, is the TV software update and that somehow the audio is no longer recognised by the TV from the player!
NB The player software had not changed and is current.
Any ideas or suggestions?
