Question

Samsung HT-BD2E firmware update will not finish?

by dejan2008 / February 25, 2012 1:35 PM PST

I donloaded, unziped and burned the .iso for 110118 update (latest) - sucessfully, since the device read it, said I now have 08... and offered to update with new 110118 - I accepted, but now it's stuck on "Updating"... after a whiel screen went black, and when I turn TV on / off it's just gray - but the Update keeps blinking on the device... Been over an hour. How long max can i take? What should I try different next time?

dejan2008 -

With the disc tray empty and the unit powered on, press and hold the FF>> button. It will reload the last loaded firmware update. If the installation process didn't execute properly, this will allow the player to reinstall the last loaded software.

The software works, but the player needs to be able to load it. Resetting it in that fashion may help it.

If FF>> doesn't work, try holding the STOP button. I can't recall which one applies to the HT-BD2E (I'm at home over the weekend trying to help people out, so I don't have access) but holding down one of those until the unit resets will prompt the player to reload and hopefully get you back up and running.

If that doesn't help, you may need further troubleshooting, which is available at 800-SAMSUNG, and they are available on the weekends too.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for your help! FF >> holding, Stop holding, Eject, power button, nothing would interrupt the "Updating" process... Finally I disconnected power, so I can Eject and try your steps, but even after that I can't Eject... Help! Happy
