Samsung HPL5063W - Possible Fan Problem?

Sep 10, 2011 3:24AM PDT

I have an approximately 7 year old Samsung TV. Occasionally, the tv emits a loud crackling noise and the color on the screen becomes flushed. The only way to stop the noise is to either turn the TV off or slighly tap if on the left side. The noise sounds like a fan blade hitting something.

I'm going to replace the orignal bulb to see if that's the problem.

Anyone else experience this?

While I don't own THAT model I have replaced fans, cleaned the internals of electronic devices for what seems decades.

It seems normal to me!

Purchasing You Fan

Where did you go to purchase a new fan? Directly with Samsung?

Many may do that.

I think samsungparts.com is a fine start. After that your electronics tech will get the fan dimensions, power inputs and check if there is a RPM sensor and shop around at digikey, jameco for alternates if the maker does not sell spares.

I do not assist in such searches since the person doing this much be fluent in the part specs as well as the repairs.
