I have the same problem with my HLT5687S which is a slim LED DLP. I have owned it for ~2 years and then there was a water problem in my living room the carpet got wet but the tv wasnt directly involved. After a couple of days it wouldnt turn on. And I have the same issue where my LED light blinks and then goes to standby for a second and then tries again. Eventually it goes to all three lights blinking. I also cant turn my tv off, and when i plug it in it turns itself on. Would appreciate any feedback.
My poor Samsung has been relegated to television purgatory. It was working fine last night, but then this morning something happened and it no longer functions properly.
I wanted to conenct my laptop to the TV via a VGA cable (something I'd never done before with this set.) With the TV off, but the laptop on, I plugged in the VGA cable. I then turned the TV on by pressing the big power button on the front of the TV (which we never really do,) but after clicking, whirring and beeping, no picture would appear. The lamp button flashes, but nothing ever appears.
The stranger part is that when I try to turn the television off, it just turns right back on, back into limbo.
If I turn it off several times (following the restarts) I then get all 3 of the buttons flashing angrily at me because I've been turning the TV on and off too frequently.
I've tried reseating the lamp several times (we'd had a problem before that was solved fiddling with the kill switch by the lamp,) but to no avail. Interestingly, in the beginning, the TV would automatically start up every time I plugged the power back in (after reseating the lamp) but now it no longer starts up like that.
The TV is a 1-1.5 years old, and we've never replaced anything on it.
Does anyone have any ideas? Will we have to get it serviced or is there something else I can try other than reseating the lamp?
