mmiller2,
Thanks for your post.
That's a tough judgment call to make since it requires more opinion than technical issue. With all due respect, our competitors make great sets too, so I hope you weren't looking for a slam-dunk sales pitch. ![]()
I can address the technical side in that HDMI will provide a true digital-to-digital picture, whereas component will be a digital-analog-digital picture. There are a lot of specification and technical differences, but as far as noticable picture quality, that's a judgement I just can't make.
Here's what I would do: Go to your local retailer and take a look and see if the "wow factor" you're looking for is something you see in our television sets. I believe we make one of the best LCD panels (and Consumer Reports gave us high marks!) and make your decision based on what you see.

I currently own a Sony KP-51WS510 that I purchased around 2003-04. It is only 720P/1080i. It has no HDMI, only one DVI. The HD/DVD picture is clear, but not anything great. It lacks detail and occasionally it pixels during live sports and so forth. For lack of a better word, it lacks that "wow" factor I believe there should be from HDTV. Will the HL67A750 be a much improved picture over over the older Sony? Thanks for any opinions.
