Click on the exact model you have and there are service manuals for each model if you need them. Inside I usually find diagnostic trees that lead you to what parts to swap out.

Our Samsung HL-R5087W stopped displaying picture and no sound without any warning. When we turn it on, it makes periodic crackling sound and constantly trying to turning itself on and off. I opened the back cover and the crackling sound seems to be coming around bulb assembly. Whenever it makes the sound, I see a flicker of light just above bulb assembly. Is the bulb need to be replaced or is it related to some other issue? Thanks a bunch for your input.
