Clarification Request
Forgot to mention...

I couldnt find anything about time lapse, so i was wondering if any of you knew whether these had that capability.

Time lapse can be done two ways...

1) Take a series of stills - for example, at 10 second intervals.

The infrared remote control

is used to remotely control the camcorder if the camcorder is used as a playback device connected to a TV. The same sort of infrared remote control is used by many TVs so one can change channels, adjust the volume, etc. This has nothing to do with being able to record video in zero visible light - like the few Sony camcorders (outside your budget) that have "NightShot" mode (see the HDR-CX700.)
