Samsung GPRS Modem Driver

Jun 17, 2004 6:28AM PDT

I am attempting to connect my laptop to my phone so i can transfer ringtones/pictures etc. I have followed instructions in the Samsung EasyGPRS manual, up until a point where i have to Add the modem, I select the correct Modem, Select the manufacturer (Siemens) and then the model (Salsung GPRS MODEM).
This is where the problem is, i am asked to "Select a port to be used for the modem and click Next >" In the manuals picture, where I have an empty box (so no option to progress), there is the option of a port called 'COM1'. I do not have this port, why? What could be the problem. Im not great on computers, so thanks for bearing with me and please help!

Chris

i have a similar problem. It all started after upgrade to Windows XP SP2. i can not connect to internet via IR port. i have Samsung SGH-C100. when i activate IR on the mobile phone and place it close to PC, a standared modem over IR link activates, but this modem does not function after upgrade to XP SP2. I can's add the Samsung GPRS Modem automatically, if i "force it in", it is still not functionable. What is this? I have tried a friends Nokia: PERFECT! Should I throw my C100 away?
