Samsung Galaxy smartview won't connect to Sony Bravia TV.

Dec 12, 2016 1:43PM PST

I am trying to share my phone screen with my TV.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and a Sony Bravia TV. I am trying to use the Smartview function.

I keep getting message 'Preparing to mirror screen', but it never actually connects to the TV. It simply times out.

Any suggestions please?

Far too many reasons for this to fail.

Thanks. Would you recommend an App to allow the mirroring to work on the Sony TV from a Samsung phone?

For years I did this with a ChromeCast.

Thanks. It won't for Sports screening. I want to mirror what is on my phone, to my TV.

I have read elsewhere that Google Chromecast could be an option to buy.
