Samsung galaxy s8 plus spontaneous crack

Apr 9, 2018 3:41AM PDT

Hello all,

I am a loyal privileged customer for Samsung way back from Samsung galaxy S2 to galaxy S8 plus and today i regret buying Samsung smartphones and here is the reason.

I was playing a game on my mobile with phone in charging and the phone slowly became hot and suddenly the back display cracked and as i am still unaware of it and am playing and accidentally a piece of rear glass pierced into my finger and out of shock i dropped the phone which in turn broke the display screen too.

I checked online for any such incidents and found the back glass breaking due to heat and found many such incidents.

Now i wanted to know why would this come under physical damage as i did not abuse my mobile whatsoever.

To answer why

You have to ask the maker or company that covers the warranty. Asking members here that don't work for or talk for Samsung will only get you guesses.

If you feel slighted there's always small claims court which big companies hate since it's like being attacked by a swarm of bees.

If you dropped and broke your phone there is no way for anyone to be able to substantiate a warranty claim. You would have to file a damage claim (assuming your device is insured). Not that it would hurt to call Samsung's customer service, either. But in my experience unless there is obvious battery swelling or other clear evidence of overheating there is a very strong likelihood you'll have to pay to replace the device via damage claim or by financing/purchasing a replacement.
