You won't be able to stand next to the machine. NFC is < 20 cm and most require less than that distance.

So, I am going to get an upgrade and I preordered my Galaxy s6 Edge phone. I am ecstatic with the phone but I have a question regarding the new pay option on the phone. I am aware that iPhones have apple pay but only 5% of the US have the system that allows iPhone users to pay with their phones. However, my phone guy had told me that 90% of the systems in US already have the system that allows S6 users to stand next to the credit card machine to pay. Thinking that it was a great option, I preordered the Galaxy s6. However, doesnt that mean the risk of getting our credit card information stolen is much easier??? Can I get your guys opinion? Do you guys think that its better to not use the mobile payment and just pay the traditional way with cash or swiping our credit cards?
