It's their app so shouldn't they test on the device and do the support?

It's not a case of should.

My experience of fora like this is the helpful exchange of information and assistance. I don't have to put out the question on behalf of my friend but I am trying to help............

I thought that someone reading this forum may have had a similar experience.

A manufacturer's forum and it's a stretch that the maker has support for the app in question.

Try forums such as XDA and other Android forums.

-> If the app support is missing and no one knows more, why not remove the app and get a refund?
That's an option.
