Question

Samsung faulty DLP white dot warranty

Aug 26, 2015 4:59PM PDT

Unfortunately my DLP TV had been sitting for about a year after it developed the white dot issue. At the time, all I found was generalized instructions to replace your bulb, replace your wheel, replace your DMD posts. I gave up and it wasn't until now that I found there was actually an open recall for faulty DMD chips by TI. I didn't receive any notifications by Samsung that there was an open campaign for my set, so the TV has been left dormant since then.

I called the 800-Samsung number to look into it and they told me the recalls were closed in 2014. Is there any way my set could be reviewed? Turns out my set did indeed have the open recall at one point, but it wasn't claimed.
