That 60Hz works out to 16.7mS. So the usual is to have a LCD go from full on to 50% off in about that time as a bare minimum. Your set looks to be 120Hz so that's where the 8mS is usually from. Since we can't send more than 60 frames a second, 8mS is just fine for a 120Hz display.
What many gamers gripe about is input lag. http://www.displaylag.com/lg-samsung-sony-input-lag-results-4k/ lists some models but Samsung seems to always fair OK to great.

So I acuired these displays new for next to nothing. They are LED LFD'S used for digital signage. I put the 40 inch in my bedroom and the 55 inch in my cave. They work out really well!! I have one connected to a dtv genie and genie client. My question is I was contemplating buying a xbox 1 and wondered if the DM55D would be compatible. The display is 1920x1080, 60hz 8ms latency. The hd looks great, esp basketball, sports etc. But ive heard gaming needs to be faster. Has anyone ever used a LFD as a tv?
