Samsung DLP won't turn on

I have a samsung dlp model HLR6167WAX. my tv just went off one day and wouldn't come back on, power was on but no picture or sound at all. every time I turn the TV on the lamp light keeps flashing few times and tv does not respond to remote. after few minutes tv shots itself off automatically. I have changed the Lamp and ballast and can hear the fan working. and nothing's changed. I can hear the click when it powers up but still no picture. i dont want to just waste money on the wrong parts. can anyone help please?
