Samsung DLP restart/cycling

by dwight fincher / December 18, 2011 1:09 AM PST

I have had good luck with my Samsung R5067W 50" DLP. Purchased in 2/2006 it is now beginning a constant restart from normal operation, to frozen image (sometimes with audio tracking fine) to greenscreen,to shutdown then start up where it runs fine for 30-45 seconds then starts the whole thing over. I have tested cables, cable signal, and other devices, no differnce.Any input on problem souce is appreciated.

That cycling if allowed unchecked can do more damage and increase the cost of the repairs.

Unplug and call it in for service. 1800SAMSUNG in USA and other numbers in other countries.

Thanks Bob,
I should mention I have a replacement lamp/ballast available and have no problem installing but assumed that was not the issue. I also assume its not the color wheel. The images are fine when they are on. If the problem becomes one of DMD or power supply boards it may not be worth investing in. I was hoping the Forum might offer a simple fix option.

But there are few to no TV repair folk here. While you see the occasional note about this or that, you may want to find a TV Repair Forum where such is discussed. While this is a Samsung forum they can't give much or possibly any guidance on repairs since such things are not user serviceable. Yes, we can try on our own but I think you need to find manuals and a forum that gets into this deeply.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
