The TZ3 did not have HD (high definition video) and use the Quicktime .mov format for video.

The TZ5 has HD and probably uses a different video format.
I could not determine what it uses from the User Manual.

I suggest you use a different player to play the video.

Take a short HD video and then look at the file name.
It will be something like --> 0001.xxx
See what the file name extender (xxx) is in your camera.
That will tell you what type of video player you need to show the video.

You should be able to find several different players.

Do a Google search for:

Video player for xxx

Instead of entering xxx use the extender your camera shows.

Your first post called the camera a Samsung.
I could not find a Samsung DM-TZ5.
I assumed you mean a Panasonic DM-TZ5.
My post was based on a Panasonic DM-TZ5.

So ... which camera is it?

Samsung or Panasonic

Your message gave me the information I wanted.
Your camera is using Quick Time 1280x720.

Since your video shows lines on the LCD, Computer, and TV ..
the problem must be occurring when you record.

All HD video recording requires a high speed memory card.
If you are using a regular memory card, you need to get a high speed card (such as SanDisk Ultra).

Read about high speed cards here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital

Scroll down to "Speed Class Rating"
You will find a chart that will help you find a high speed SD memory card.

Internal Memory
Jan 20, 2011 9:44AM PST

I have never seen any camera maker declare the speed of their internal memory.
I would hope that they would provide adequate memory speed for HD video, but I don't know.

They usually only provide enough internal memory to make a very short video.
