Since there is no schematic only Samsung may know. If I was there I might put the board under a loupe or microscope to check your work. I've lost count of how many times the solder work was sub-par.
I bought a Samsung Chromebook series 5 from craigslist that had a broken charging port. I soldered a new one on (which I've done before without issue), but it won't turn on. As soon as i plug the charger in, the light on the charger goes off and no lights come on on the laptop.
There are four prongs on the charging port where it connects to the motherboard. Using a multimeter, I found out that there is 19 volts between two of the prongs (parallel to the front of the laptop), but not the other two. Does this point to a bad motherboard or a bad port?
Thanks
