SAMSUNG BLU-RAY DVD PLAYER BD-P3600/XAA

Oct 3, 2009 4:39AM PDT

I have made 2 phone calls and 2 e-mails(no response)to samsung support starting around 9/1/09. Concerning bad player that freezes in load mode and won't function. They have promised firmware to be mailed to me, but so far nothing. I have tried to get the samsung site to send me a shipping label for a cost they posted but it won't receive my data. I have checked the site for the firmware upgrade download. It is a zipped file and I cannot extract the file. But Also if my player is locked in the load run, how would I even get the USB drive to accept that file to run. Please provide Help..

Firmware 2.04

chaz0036:

I too have the BD-P3600, so I have uploaded the unzipped file to my server to help you. This is the USB version of the newest version 2.04 which is working beautifully on my system.

I hope this helps you. Happy

PS- Please post here once you have downloaded it, so that I can remove it from my server since it's such a large file.

chaz0036,

If the firmware caused your unit not to function, and the LOAD mode is keeping you from being able to do anything, unfortunately it's going to need to be sent in.

Even with the unzipped file, I'm not sure if that will allow the unit to run - some posters here have noted that they've been unsuccessful, so sending it in may be the best way to do it.

What do you mean "for a cost they posted"?

Same Problem With My 3600
Oct 4, 2009 12:54AM PDT

I'm having the same issue! I downloaded the latest firmware via wifi, and now I'm stuck on the the load process. I'm skeptical about sending my unit in as I've heard horrible things from people who have.

Is your player stuck with the message Net-Up?

No...it is stuck on 'load'. If I insert a disk it is stuck on 'close'.

samsunglover,

I've started a thread on this for the 2.04 firmware update. At this point, the only recourse I have is to send the player in for service.

net-up ok
Dec 30, 2009 10:15AM PST

I found another, very recent posting on this forum where someone reported his P3600 firmware hung up at step #4. The console showed "net-up" but the process screen on his TV hadn't cleared the last step. After 6 hours he decided, what the hell, and disconnected the power. When he restarted, everything was ok. The firmware was updated and everything ran fine.

Having been through the same process, I decided I had nothing to lose. I yanked the power cord, plugged it back in and everything was great. Just thought I'd add a little bit of hope to all the other doom and gloom notes.

Listen, Samsung needs to add links to these CNET forums. The online support on the Samsung site is useless.

Just plull the plug and wait a minute or two then plug back in. Everything should be OK!

net-up

Mine just did the same thing, but after about 10 minutes of sitting on "net-up" it powered off by itself. I was able to power it back on and it's working normally.
