into the Samsung forum I will lock this one to avoid duplication.
OK...I know it's out-of-warranty...but still...AND, they know I have purchased 4 of their HDTVs (within 3mos to 1 1/2 yrs)....
Just spent 45 min on the phone w/ 3 different Samsung customer support/relations reps (including supervisor), from all over the planet...
2 yr/3mo old BD P-1600 XAA bluray player...extremely rare usage (MAYBE, half a dozen occasions @ most. Seriously.), nary a scratch, all labels still affixed, virtually NEW unit, dust free environment...
Player freezes in CLOSE mode or in LOAD mode w/ blue bubble tv screen...after 45 minutes of reiterating my concerns about the player and circumstances, Samsung refuses to offer ANY assistance other than, ship it/we'll fix it & you (me) pay for it...$110 plus all shipping costs.
I paid $169 for it NEW & new players NOW run $80-150!!
NO WONDER WE HAVE SUCH AN ELECTRONIC WASTE ISSUE!!
NOT ONLY THAT!!... If you visit the Samsung website for firmware updates FOR THIS PRODUCT...when you click to download the firmware ver. 2.19 to a thumb drive...this pops up:
"Global Download Center

---How lame is this!
They won't even stand behind the application/integrity of their OWN firmware upgrades!!!
IN MY OPINION, Samsung obviously has zero faith in the integrity of their products
Their "customer relations" amount to a "one night stand"!
Hmmm I'm not countin' on them calling me back, either.....
NOPE...not cryin'...just pissed... (was almost wishin' I had an HPV to give 'em...)
