Samsung BD-P3600 / Putting US Firmware on a Canadian Player

Jul 31, 2009 12:44PM PDT

I bought a Canadian BD-P3600 player in Canada when I lived there. I now live in the US and am trying to take advantage of Netflix and Pandora Streaming. However, I have been unable to put the US Firmware on the player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Samsung BD-P3600 / Putting US Firmware on a Canadian Player

ebrossette,

The firmwares are specific to the region the players are sold in. The firmware updates, to my knowledge, are not swappable or upgradable from one region to another.

Both the US and Canada are region 1 players. The player works great with the exception of not allowing me to stream Netflix and Pandora. If I can not update the firmware to allow Netflix and Pandora streaming could I exchange the player for the US model? Any help is greatly appreciated.

ebrossette,

There's not an exchange or upgrade program that I'm aware of, but the only think I can ask is to call 800-SAMSUNG and ask for the Executive Customer Relations. They're the only ones I know of that can authorize that kind of exchange.
