Samsung BD-P2550 firmware upgrade

I am considering buying a Samsung BD-P2550, but I need to ask what is probably a dumb question, but I would like to know if the firmware upgrade has anything to do with the HDMI version. I have been deliberately waiting for Blueray technology to stablize and for the prices to become more reasonable and I think it's about time to upgrade from DVD. However, I might as well have the ability to veiw Blueray 3D and I am told this requires HDMI v1.4. As the Samsung BD-P2550 has HDMI v1.3, I need to know if this can be upgraded or do I have to buy a newer machine?

Thanks.

Samsung BD-P2550 firmware upgrade

Never mind, my question WAS dumb. I should have looked on Wikipedia in the first place. I now know what the differences between HDMI versions are.

rebell1952,

Everyone starts somewhere, so it's just a case of learning the new technology. Happy

HDMI 1.3 will do the trick.
