samsung bd-p1600

i have just purchased a new samsung blu-ray player model number bd-p1600 and i can not get it to hook up to the internet so i can go on netflix. everytime i do a network test i get stuck on gateway ping i have a ethernet cord going from my new blu-ray player directly to the router i am currently using(its a linksys) i have tryed opening ports, calling samsung, calling linksys, and calling my i.s.p. i can not get answers

PLEASE HELP

Are you able to connect if you bypass the router and connect directly to the modem?

I am not 'pokecody' but have the same problem. Yes, I can connect if I go directly to the modem but not through the router. (Linksys) I did connect and did a firmware upgrade successfully. Was just interested to read your reply.
