Samsung BD-P1590 Resolution Issue - Display Scrambled

Apr 5, 2010 2:11PM PDT

Upon Upgrading the firmware today, the resolution setting on the BD-P1590 has changed to an unsupported resolution for my TV.

The Menu will appear but it is entirely unreadable.
I have power cycled the device and reset to factory defaults.... no change.
I have even tried to blindly navigate to the resolution setting... no dice.

5 differnt Samsung LiveChat Support techs over 2. 5 hours could not tell me anything other than "just press menu on your remote, settings, display, resolution"... none of them could move past the prescripted responses and canned answers to even acknowledge that the words and menu are unreadable. They would repeat, reset factory defaults & select your resolution.

I have the BD-P1590 connected to my network, how do I connect to the 1590 from my PC to change the settings? I have figured out the IP address it recieved from my DHCP server. The 1590 does not seam to have a web interface.

I have a pic of my tv screen to highlight the illegiblity of the Menu.
Samsung please redeem your self in my eyes.

Samsung BD-P1590 Resolution Issue - Display Scrambled

ChawkTaw14,

What is your television's maximum resolution, and what input are you using?

If you're using component (RGB) or HDMI, try plugging in the composite (yellow) cable to see if the resolution went down to 480i. If it did, then use that connection to change your resolution, and then switch over to the other HDMI/component(RGB) input to see if the scramble turns into a better picture.

What part of the manual are you working on with connecting to your server?
