General discussion

Samsung BD-P1590

Sep 2, 2009 12:08AM PDT

Just recently bought this unit, connected (hardwire) to router, but it doesn't appear on my desktop (Acer) computer running WinVista. The connection pings successfully, and am able to get Netflix and Pandora. I can see all other devices, the router, the Directv receiver, but not the Samsung. I'm trying to view JPEG files on hard drive, but get error message--no program installed.

Any clues?
Hilda

hdbakke,

Are you connecting both wireless and hardwired, or just the wired?

Connecting to modem/router just with CAT-5 cable.

hdbakke,

Have you tried disabling the firewall?
Also, check to see if the date and time are correct in the setup menu.

Date and time are correct, and even disabling the firewall, the unit still does not show up in Windows Vista network.

Still perplexed.
