Samsung BD-P1580 made me angry.. any help?

by lostinwires / July 26, 2009 12:37 AM PDT

I just bought samsung blu- ray BD- P1580 player here in europe from my biggest local electronics store.

I was truly amazed with the picture quality when disney studio opening credits showed up in beginning of Nightmare Before Christmas SE blu-ray disc. All went well and i just felt very satisfied with my new player.

Then later I just started to watch Stargate SG-1 season 1 DVD and I watched couple of episodes and turned the player off.

This morning I was starting to continue watching SG but... Player just opens up, I put the disc on, it closes. TV screens stays black. Only eject and powerbutton works on BD- P158(same thing in remote control). Lcd panel in player shows open/close/loading/or not even that. My tv is Sony KDL-46V5500 and I am using official PS3 HDMI cable. All the discs I have tried are "right" region discs that player should be able to read.

I cant even reset my blu- ray player. I push the button 5 seconds like manual says but nothing happens. And the tv screen stays black, not even flash or nothing at all.

I suppose this samsung is really dead&bad product and I am very angry with it. It just worked about 5 hours.Nice. Any advice what I should do?

lostinwires,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue, and apologize for the inconvenience. Have you tried letting it load without a disc to even get a spash screen?

If nothing else, you may want to take it back to the retailer and exchange it for something that makes you happy. It certainly isn't our intention to make you angry. Do what's best for you.
