Samsung BD-HT1250 iphone problem

by runninglee / May 7, 2010 3:50 AM PDT

bought this unit recently and tried to use the ipod cradle.

It works brill with my brothers 4th gen ipod and 5th gen ipod, but will not work with my iphone 3gs (16gb).

The cradle charges it, and even recognises it on screen, but when you try to access the music it just throws up those annoying moving balls in the corner of the screen and hangs there.

Any ideas anyone? Is this a common problem or just a fault on my unit?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated as this is very annoying!!

Thanks

runninglee,

Unfortunately, I've seen several reports of different models not working. The .mp3 format is supported, however, other audio codecs are not supported at this time. Does your iPhone have .mp3 files you can test?

That's what's odd. The music on the 5th gen iPod and the iPhone is identical. The iPod works fine but the iPhone doesn't. My brother bought the same model and all works fine on his. Currys not playing ball though. To be honest I bought the unit on Xmas eve and assumed when iPhone didn't work there was some compatability issue despite the fact it states on all of the promo material that it does support an iPhone. It's only now my brother has o d which works that I am a little annoyed! Petty I know, but annoying nontheless!

Well, I rang Samsung and they gave me two pieces of advice on 2 seperate calls after waiting 30 minutes each time on hold!

1) chnage iphone settings - tick 'manually manage music' - no joy so I called them back

2) Just update your firware, you download it from our website and that should fix it.....so i did, exactly by the book!

Not good, the screen is now blue and the player is just stuck in 'Load' on the front, anyway I took it back to Currys for an exchxnage, they called Samsung and they have told me its going to be 28 days for a repair (They wouldn't authorise an exchange).

I am gutted and extremely disappointed!!!
