Question

Samsung BD-F5500 3 D Blu-ray Disc Player does not operate

Aug 14, 2018 5:21AM PDT
Good afternoon everybody! I own this 3 D Blu-ray Disc Player although I do not own or play 3D movies. I have had it for some time without using it. The other day I installed and connected the thing to my system. No problem, it
worked to perfection. However, this did not last... and yesterday it refused
to switch on. There are only 2 connections: one to the mains, the other to
the TV via HDMI. There is a disc with 4 touch sensors on top of the unit they are , clockwise from the bottom Power / Open/Close / Stop / Play/Pause. The power sensor is the ONLY one working, I can switch it on and off but that is all. The remote is totally dead. I really don't understand,
it was working perfectly two days ago. I would welcome your input please
Thank you very much. All the best, Robert.

So it does appear to have hit the usual 5 year life span. You will discover repair costs exceed replacement. Your choice to pursue repair but do check that it won't power up on another mains connection.
