Different routers have different capabilities when it comes to connecting different devices. Several users here have noted that calling Apple's customer support has yielded positive results. Unfortunately, I can't offer support on the routers.
Hello - I bought the new BD-C6500 with wireless ability. I have gotten it to work but with some serious caveats. First, it would not connect to the Apple base-station while any kind of password was active. I quickly deactivated the security by resetting the base-station with no password security. As a temporary measure it has worked but very spottily. The 6500 never boots up with a connection. It usually takes 2-6 times selecting the open network until I can access Netflix streaming. This is obviously an ineffective way to watch streaming video. My questions are:
--does anyone have experience with using this unit with Apple wifi?
--Ideally I would like to have a secure connection - any suggestions there?
--Would it be easier to try and make a wired ethernet connection or will there be similar problems?
Any feedback would be appreciated. It is great when it works but that is no solution.
