Samsung BD-C5500 - Iphone App not working

by long_wait / December 6, 2010 10:30 AM PST

I am trying to control my Samsung UN46C6300 tv with iphone App through my Samsung BD-c5500 player and getting the following error message.

For your information: Connected my TV with HDMI cable to Blue ray. Blue ray is connected to the wireless router.

"Both your iphone and tv should be connected to the same access point. Please check the network settings"

Please help me on this.

I dont think the samsung bd players are controllable with iphone. Im not sure what you mean that you are trying to control your tv through the 5500. If your tv is controllable with iphone, then you need to connect your tv to your router. Just because 5500 is connected to router and the tv is connected to the 5500 doesnt mean the tv is connected to the router.

It seems that's for the TV.

"Samsung launches TV Remote Control app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad"

Try controlling your TV with that.

About the networking issue, that's common when firewalls are enabled in the router.

Thats because you dont have your tv connected to router. You say you have the 5500 connected to router and youre trying to control tv through the 5500. You cant do that. You may be able to control your tv, but you have to connect the tv to the router. It dont matter if your 5500 is connected or not.

Thanks again for your help, guys... I bought the Samsung LAN Wireless adapter and connected my TV to the router wirelessly. In the network settings, I could see my TV connected to the network wirelessly. The iphone app is still showing the old error message.
