Samsung BD-1590 Status Indicator Freezes with "LOAD"

by pschaeffer / December 12, 2009 4:34 AM PST

My BD-1590 does this from time to time. Nothing fixes the problem. I have tried powering on and off using the remote and the front panel. I have tried removing power and restoring power. Sometimes the problem goes away by itself. I had this problem before I downloaded the firmware updates and still have the problem with the latest firmware installed. Note that I have also seen the machine freeze with a status display of "OPEN". Other folks have observed similar problems. See

Note that this problem occurs when the machine does not have a DVD in it at all.

Any ideas?

Thank you

If the unit isn't working properly, I'd recommend calling 800-SAMSUNG and sending the unit in for repair. It sounds like something is definitely malfunctioning, and if the firmware update didn't fix it, it could be a hardware issue.

i called samsung with this problem they told me i would need to send it in for repair . The repair would cost $110.00 +shipping, i didn't pay but $120.00 for the unit . I have researched the problem online and seen were it is happening with many other units . Looks like samsung would want to make their product right and help their customers .

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
