samsung and ps3

Hi there i have a ln52650 samsung tv and a ps3 hooked up to it for watching blue ray movies. When the movies on the quality of the movie is not very good. I have all the cables hooked up wright i think and my settings for my ps3 i got on this website. Not sure if my t.v. setting are wrong or is it just the way it is.

P.s i played the same blue ray movie on my friend's ps3 and the pictures was clear. He had a sony xbr. thanks for anyone's help

What cable are you using to connect the PS3 to the TV? I hope you're not using the cable that came with the PS3, because that's just composite video... you need to use either component or HDMI.

I'm using a Hdmi cable from my ps3 to my t.v. . Would an optical cable make a difference or is that just for sound. thanks

Optical is just for audio. So you're using HDMI, which is good -- just checking but you're also setup for 1080p? (when you hit "info" on the TV remote, it should say 1920x1080 @ 60Hz or 24Hz depending on your PS3 settings.

Yes the setting on top say's 1920x1080 and 60hz. It just seems like the picture quality isn't that great not sure if it's the Dvd's . I tried two movies looked the same . Also tried kids movie Madacasgar and that looked nice. but the other two are crap.
