I can't guess why the m2 factor was used but there are SATA to M2 adapters so you can turn that into a SATA drive and keep your GPU well fed.
the new samsung 950 pro m2 slot SSD is coming out this week and i want to use it as the boot drive.I want to get full functionality out of it and was told that is hould get the ASROCK EXTREME 6 USB 3.1 mobo as it has an ultra m2 slot that uses the 3.0x4 thats needed, but i looked on the manual for the asrock extreme 6 mobo and it says if that m2 slot is used, the 2 PCI EXPRESS slots go from 3.0x16 and 3.0x8----down to 3.0x8 and 3.0x4.Now i have an ASUS strix 980 ti GPU i want to use,but i know its 3.0x16.
So my question is,will my GPU work?or will the performance be decreased?...if so,is it a noticable deifference?
Also, does anyone know what other mobo's can be used with the 950 pro to get full functionality? So far all i heard was that asrock is teh only company up to date with it.Like i sen asus hero has an m2 slot, but its only good for 10 gigs/second...where as the 950 pro uses like 32 gigs/second.
please help!!! thank you for any recommendations in advance!
