Samsung 8mm camcorder charing error

Jan 17, 2012 4:57AM PST

I have a Samsung 8mm camcorder model VPL770.
I cannot charge the battery the charging flash sequence is indicating error (light on for a second and off for a second) The manual says to reset charger by removing and replacing DC supply. I have tried this but the problem continues. The camera works perfectly when connected to the dc supply but the battery will not charge.I can buy a new battery but want to be sure that this would indicate that that is the problem.Any help would be great thanks

We see the same question for laptops.

And it's the same technology so all I ask is how old is the old battery. If over 2 years old then I replace it and try the new battery.

Manual doesn't make this clear

As I said I guess it's a battery problem but the manual does say that the light flashing sequence indicates charging error and to reset charger by disconecting/reconecting DC supply, Thought it might elaborate by saying that this indicates battery is knackered..yes it is over 2 years old
