cmvsm,
Thanks for your kind words, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having some issues with the picture.
Auto Motion Plus is adjustable for each input, since different sources may require different settings for optimal performance.
That said, some ghosting issues are a result of signal compression. Some ghosting issues are a result of video transfer from film to broadcast. These issues are inherent in broadcasting, and while processing can clean up some of those issues, it may very well be how the picture itself is being sent and received.
Sometimes the best processing is none. That's why we offer the ability to turn off the picture processing (AMP feature). The age of the unit is relatively moot if it is signal compression, but I understand that seeing this problem occur on a new television can be upsetting.
So exchanging it may not provide a better result (or it might!), but then, at least you'll know that your unit is not defective and avoid a service call later down if your doubt causes you to take action.
That decision is best made by you!
Keep me posted.

HI. I just purchased this set and the picture is really amazing. We hung it on the wall and it truly is a masterful design. I was watching FOXHD last night, Terminator 3, and I had the AMP turned on to Medium. I started noticing some very apparent ghosting and what seemed to be a 'stuttering' of the characters on the screen from time to time. It actually started to get a little aggravating. So I went to another channel, and it wasn't as apparent, but still there.
I then turned on AMP to the highest setting, and it got worse. I finally turned AMP off, and the ghosting/studdering went away completely.
I did call Samsung CS, and they told me that it was not normal and that AMP should be eliminating the issue, not creating it, and that I should exchange the television. I bought from Amazon less than a week ago, so an exchange won't be a problem.
My question is that will a new set make a difference or is this an inherent problem with the AMP with some movies/signals? I wouldn't really mind some ghosting from time to time as I may even expect it, but this was a little too noticeable for a new set.
Thanks for your advice in advance!
