Question

Samsung 6300 62"TV has dark band across middle of screen

Apr 10, 2018 6:46AM PDT

Have read it could be a color bar replacement needed but no one says how much that would cost. Have gone through the menus to update software and do a picture test. The picture test shows the dark band as well and even darker to the far right of the screen. Is this a defect in the product? I don't think the TV is more than 5 years old.

Otherwise members can't check on priors.

To call it a defect is a stretch. That is, for a defect it would do this new or in warranty or to a high percentage of all models in a year or two. As you get to 4+ years you get into failures, not defects.

There are numerous Youtube videos about LED backlight strips and repairs but the omission of model year and number (the full model number) means I must stop here.
