Samsung 630 series...

So i talked to a Samsung rep a few weeks ago (actually a regional lead was WITH our normal Samsung rep) at my store and he said samsung is coming out with a 630 series of TVs. Its basically a 550 series TV with 120hz (thats all he could tell me). It will only be $200-$300 more than a 550 TV instead of $600 like a 650 series would be. He also said that the price of the 650 series is due to drop in June, possibly by this weekend. Hopefully this info helps someone who is thinking of getting a samsung TV.

I talked to him just the other day and he informed me that this TV will have the Touch of Color HOWEVER, it wont be red it will be a deep BLUE color. Also it WILL have a matte screen. It WILL have 120hz automotion plus. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and i will try and remember them from what my samsung rep told me.

TOC color?

In reply to: Samsung 630 series...

thats interesting that you are saying that the TOC wont be red, but will be blue... Amazon has a photo of the 52a630 and the 46a630, listed at MSRP of 2699 of course, but the TOC is red...
so who is right?
Your Samsung rep or Amazon?
Any other todbits of info, like when it will be arriving?

In reply to: TOC color?

My Samsung Rep said it. I even asked him again to be sure. He said it will be a deep blue. He has seen it with his own two eyes so im gonna go with him on this one. (He is a really smart guy too, he really keeps up on his stuff unlike some of our other brand reps who pass out pens then leave to go eat lunch.) I know the pics are red but they may be place holders or maybe early pics of prototypes or something. It will be arriving soon, in the next month or two i believe. The 630 should be 200, 300 or 400 cheaper than a same sized 650.

red TOC?

In reply to: 630...

dare i ask which store you work for?
i also frequent the forums, and the consensus there is that it is red TOC.
Even Amazon has it as "with red TOC" in their title for the TV.

I agree that the MSRP will be 2699 as opposed to 2899/2999 for the 650 but i think the actual price will be a little higher than the 650, just like the A530 is higher than the A550

full matte screen or semi?

In reply to: Samsung 630 series...

I was wondering what type of matte screen this 630 will have, as I've noticed the latest thing is a semi-matte/semi-gloss screen (which the 550 has). The 650 is full gloss, but I've not seen any full matte from Samsung yet. Does the 630 have a full matte screen, or semi?

Thanks for any information!

screen type

In reply to: full matte screen or semi?

Its a semi-matte and the official information can now be found on the Samsung website, and Amazon is now quoting a 3 to 6 weeks delivery...which should go down.

Thanks for the info, lonewulf! I was kinda hoping the screen would be full matte (like the LN-S4095D I currently own), but I guess most companies aren't into that type of screen anymore.
