Question

samsung 55hu9000 over lit LED's

Dec 26, 2014 1:54AM PST

I just purchased a un55hu900fxza with a TS01 panel and noticed after plugging my control box in, there seems to be a constant about two or three over lit LED's on the bottom center of my screen behind the LCD. I don't think it's normal to be that way. My family room is dark and my room lights are off above the TV when the TV is on. Any suggestions? If im watching a animated film it gets very annoying because it stands out a lot. for example if the the LCD is completely white or bright and the picture is moving around, those LED's are too bright and my eyes attract them more than the picture. I tried to tweek some of the settings and no luck. Oh and my samsung logo on the bottom is turned off.

Answer
For very dark rooms some sets are not going to work out.

Call it in and ask if they have more ideas before you exchange it.

I don't think the ambient lighting in the room will have any effect with the appearance of the tv. I have compared to some demo units at a few stores and it doesn't have those bright LED's at the bottom center of the screen. all of the others seem to have an equal blended amount of lighting on the bottom and throughout the panel. mine looks like someone is holding a lighter right above the samsung logo behind the LCD panel. Ill try to contact samsung to see if they can help me.

So it's a defective unit.

Why wait for service. Just exchange it.

lol I would but I had purchased it out of state. I have to pay for shipping and insurance. That's my last resort.

(NT) Then call it in. It doesn't seem user serviceable.
