Samsung 50" Plasma TV loses picture on top half of screen.

by ROTOMAVIN / September 5, 2009 7:28 PM PDT

I have a 50" Plasma TV which is about 2-3 years old. All of a suddent the top half of the picture goes black. Stays that way for a while then goes back to normal. Some times I have to turn off the TV to get it back to it's normal picture. Is this TV shot? I may be out of warranty and wonder what is wrong. Is this repairable? Picture is great other than this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung 50" Plasma TV loses picture on top half of screen.

ROTOMAVIN,

Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine what the problem could be. It could be the board inside of the television, or the television panel itself. Without being able to actually inspect the unit, is difficult to determine what problem could be. Your best bet is to call 800-SAMSUNG to have your unit inspected. If you haven't purchased an additional warranty at the time you purchased your television, it may be an out of pocket expense.

My 50" Samsung also does this

My 50" Samsung is doing the same thing. Started about 2 years ago, and seems only to happen in the warm weather As soon as the weather starts to cool it doesn't miss a lick. I tried calling c.s. when the problem first appeared, but they were less than helpful. Nothing but the old "out of warranty" garbage. I keep wishing it would just die completely so I could justify replacing it. If it does, and I do, you can bet it won't be another Samsung. Once burned, twice learned.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
