Samsung 50" plasma blank screen problem

Oct 29, 2010 1:49AM PDT

So I have been reading about an issue where the screen goes Blank. I do not know what my model number is however if doing the cable box thing does not work, what else could be the problem? Can they fix this, and if they can was is the approximate cost? Anyone know...I did not hear or read of any resolutions? Any help or ideas?

A lot depends on the details.

The costs are determined by warranty, if this is a model with some special extended coverage (call 1-800-SAMSUNG), location (boondock repairs cost more) and the owner's skills.

Why I listed the owner's skills is because some owners can't tell if the cable is out, disconnected so the service must be FULL SERVICE and the owner pays for that. I've yet to see any warranty cover issues with cables or dead batteries in the remote.

I know this doesn't answer your question but you can collect your details and try 1-800-SAMSUNG to get started.

Spoke to someone at Samsung, they seemed to know exactly what the problem is, so they are going to have a technician call us back over the next two business days...I can not remember what she said something like a componant in the the screen?? Any idea on how long or how much something like this would cost?

This is for a HPT5054X/XAA, model with a version of BN10...

Thanks,
Dana

How long or cost.

Is something up to the folk that write the bill. Look at the details so far and ask if you could offer anyone an estimate for the work.

Yes I guess thank Bob, going to try some stuff this weekend that the repair people suggested, if not a tech will come to the house on Tuesday AM...In our area looks $85.00 for a service call and part of that goes to the cost to fix the thing....

Thanks again,
Dana
