Question

Samsung 50" plasma black screen

Aug 6, 2016 6:01PM PDT

After about 15 mins of watching tv the screen will go black. If I turn it off and wait 10 mins or so the picture will come back for another 15. I removed the cover and found a few bulged capicitors but they are on the power board, could these be my issues??

Okay i have removed power board and I count 3 different swollen capacitors. They are on the right side of the board where the plug goes to the y sus. Not sure I trust my solder skills for this

Just replace the board. The risk if not done right is too high. 50" sets are not cheap so my tech buddies don't cheap out. Try shopjimmy.com for boards and possibly samsungparts.com

Answer
Definitely. But do not power it up until fixed.

That can cause other boards to fail. Have it replaced and never plug it in until it's fixed.
