theils,
It sounds like you have set up correctly. Your Direct is HDMI, and doesn't necessarily have to be off, but it's okay that it is.
Now your focus is on your tuner co-ax. You may be able to set it to either the NTSC (old) or ATSC (new) signals, but not both at the same time. So if you want the older local channels that haven't switched over, you may have to toggle between the NTSC and ATSC formats to get the local channels you want.
Had the changeover gone as planned 11 days ago, this probably wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, it seems like this may be the temporary inconvenience to endure in the meantime.
I hope that helps.

I just got one -WOW. but how do I get both my local digital stations through my good rooftop antenna AND the Direct TV satellite input? I have an HDMI from the satellite receiver to the HDMI input(1) on the tv and the 75 ohm cable (with power booster) from the antenna to the rf input on the tv. Am I doing this right? I can't seem to get the local stations but the satellite comes in fine . Is there something I have to do in the programming part of the remote? I keep the Direct tv receiver off when I'm trying to get the local stations to come in but am not getting the local stuff which has gone with digital and has not participated in the analog extension program . Thanks in advance.
