Question

Samsung 4k Blu Ray Player wont work on my 4k TV?

Mar 30, 2016 9:36PM PDT

My tv model is a Samsung UN65HU7250FXZC...and i purchased the UBD-K8500 4K Blu Ray Player.
Every HDMI port i try it tells me that my HDMI port is not HDCP 2.2 compatible? I've researched and my tv does have 2.2 compatabilities? So not sure what is going on? Do i need to buy a UHD Evolution kit?

Clarification Request
I'm reading this in the manual.

"HDCP 2.2 is supported only by the TV's HDMI (MHL) port."

Samsung didn't have a clear picture of that port for me to share here.

I was told that that port is only for tablets/phones etc? Even Samsung personnel told me that.

Then you have a fine reason to get a full refund.

While I may disagree and would use the port for it's HDCP 2.2 support, I understand your concern and think you have a good set of legs to ask for a full refund. It's not a full UHD 4K HDTV without that port.

When I use the MHL port I don't get any messages saying it's not an incorrect HDMI port.... But it's the only port I can't turn on the "HDMI UHD COLOUR" option? What is this option even?

Sorry but this question is one for Samsung.

Here I would try the Chat at Samung.com.

I wonder if you figured out the HDMI port 2.2 issue at this point. It's a shame Samsung told you it was only for the tablets and phone. If it was, well a good reason to ask for a full refund.
