Samsung 40" Model UN40F6300 , WHAT KEY BOARD WILL WORK??

by Escorial-Green / November 18, 2013 10:09 PM PST

I would like to be able to use the browser on my new tv and when I called Samsung I was told that only there keyboard or a Logitech one would work. I was told that the keyboard must be a Human Interface Keyboard ( I guess blue tooth)

So I looked at a few prices and I'm thinking what else if out there? Wink

Perhaps I needed the because the Samsung is blue tooth compliant and perhaps blue tooth has a father range??

Or could I get by with a pc wireless keyboard that comes with the usb dongle (or what even they call it) as the Samsung does have the usb sockets in the back.

Thanks, any suggestions as well as model/make numbers would be appreciated......

USB HID is not Bluetooth.

There are prior discussions but try the Logitech K400. As to the sockets in the back I suggest you get a 1 or 2 foot USB extension cable to move the USB transceiver front and center for a little more range. Or a 10 foot to run around and out closer to the user's location.

I think it's OK.

For folk the demand the maker stands up and says this works, I think that's part of the premium you would pay for. Also, it's not made in the 100 thousand lots so economies of scale are not possible. Now if they had swallowed a little pride they could have skipped the engineering and production cycle to cut a deal with an already in production model but with a custom print job.

Then you get your economy of scale but some companies can't bring themselves to do that. It's been years but I did that in my design days and it paid off handsomely.
