After doing my fair share of research I decided to purchase a Samsung 40 inch LCD TV model # LNT4069F with the 120HZ processor. In March of 2008 I did so. Just as I expected the picture was clear, DVDs looked great on it, and even my sons video game systems graphics looked incredible. About a week later I came home from work to watch some of the march madness basketball to my dismay I found this ugly white dotted line going across the middle of my screen. After swapping out the cable box and changing inputs and still finding that white line there I called Samsung. They set up a appointment with a local repair vendor here in the great Atlanta area. The gentleman came out said the mother board had to be replaced but he did not have any of them and had to order them from Samsung. A week later he came back out and changed the motherboard out only to still have that white line still there. 7 weeks later and 5 more appointments later the white line was still there. Finally I called Samsung and escalated the matter to Samsung corporate office. They agreed to replace the TV with a new one of the same model. 3 weeks later now into the summer my new TV arrived in perfect condition. Around Thanksgiving 2008 I turned on my TV to watch a football game to notice this black shadow in the lower right corner of my TV. After changing inputs to see if it would go away and it didn't I once again called Samsung. They set up a another service appointment with the same vendor as before. As like the first time the technician came into my house and said he need to replace the mother board but did not have it. He left my TV still with the ugly shadow on it and I waited another 2 weeks for another appointment on Christmas eve. The same nice technician came back out replaced the motherboard only for that same shadow to still be there. He then stated in needed another part he did not have and would have to order. A week later I got a letter not even a phone call from this repair company stating the part I needed has been delayed by Samsung and they would call when it came in.
Shortly after I got a call from a woman with Samsung customer report asking me if my situation had been resolved . I told her no and told her of my dilemma she kindly stated she would check with her supervisor and see if they could replace my TV again and she would get back to me. Guess what to no surprise I have not received a call from her or Samsung about resolving this issue. I own a Samsung blu ray player, cell phone, and a Samsung home theater system. At this point i am ready to get rid of all of them and move on to someone else. Is there any here in this forum that can shed some light or give me some direction on how to handle this situation. ?
