Samsung 2493HM Monitor set up help.

Jul 15, 2008 6:53AM PDT

Hi I've just purchased an 2493HM Monitor and after a day of use I'm getting used to it...it's a big step up from my old 19"LCD.
I have a few queries; the buttons (menu, customized key etc) don't seem to be back-lit and I can't see them at all which means I can't seem to set the thing up properly.

I've found out that the buttons are not backlit and I've been trying to tune it in and as I don't have it plugged in via the analogue port I can't auto tune it. Is there a set way to do this? Every time I manage to get one of the functions up on the screen by the time i work out what to do it blinks off again and as I can't see the buttons it's like being blindfolded.
If I'd realised this was going to be such a problem in the beginning, I'd not of purchased it and let this serve as a warning to any other potential customers
At the recommended screen resolution 1920x1200 60Hz, viewing any written content is a pain as it's such tiny script. I've been told not to bother running it at this res and to go back to 1024x768.
Is this right?

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600), NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache(TM) [Display adapter].
I've searched through Samsungs FAQ's and search facility( "search facility" A misnomer surely? What a trial that was!)
Any help or clues would be appreciated

Sorry to hear you?re having trouble. Let me see if I can help you out.

The function buttons disappear after a period of time because people have complained about how long they stay up. I do admit they can seem a little fast initially, but I can send that information back to our developers.

As far as the resultion of 1920x1200, the digital resolution shouldn?t be an issue. You seem to have a powerful enough video card to take advantage of the technology.

Best,

Mr. Samsung

trembling and noise in Monitor
Dec 20, 2008 1:51AM PST

Hi,

Suddenly I have a problem with my monitor Samsung 3032MW.

I have switched it on and the image is not available any more: the sound is still working but the image is very bad.

I cannot see anymore any clear image, either TV image or PC one.

I have pushed the AUTO button on the remote control but a "not available" message appears on the screen.

What can I do to solve the problem.

Bye,

Vanina
