Samsung 2443BW CPU compatibility question

Feb 13, 2009 5:30AM PST

Dear Samsung,

I have just purchased my first Flat screen monitor to use with my 3 year old Hewlett Packard A1640N. It is waiting at UPS to be received.

I just learned this computer has no video card, but shared video memory. Here are the details from CNET review;

Graphics Controller
Type Integrated Graphics Processor / Vendor Intel GMA X3000 Video Memory Shared video memory (UMA)

Can you tell me if this monitor will work...without the upgrade?

I learned I have to install a power source along with a video card to make it work? Or does this have to be installed to obtain the full benefits of the monitor? Can you confirm that?

Some tell me it will still be a monitor...just not the full advantage of the technology. Others say it won't even turn on.

Please advise...at your earliest convenience.

Bunnie
