Samsung 2333SW Monitor Problem

We have had this monitor for about a year. It has worked flawlessly until recently. For some reason the display goes white after it is turned on. It takes about a minute. The computer boots up properly and we get to the windows screen without any problem. The monitor just turns white on its own. The computer works fine with any other monitor. Is there a board that I can replace, or is this thing ready for the waste bin?

A local computer seller told me that Samsung monitors are not known for quality and that the unit is junk. I have had our Samsung flat screen TV for much longer without trouble.
