I have a friend who has a big TV, id say its 30-40"? well its got this problem, when it is turned on it will stay on for a minute or so, flicker on and off then the screen will turn off. but the power for the tv is still on. is there a way to fix this? and what would be causing this?

spacemannot,

It could be a power supply or a mainboard issue. These issues are best diagnosed by a service tech. Without actually looking at the unit, it's almost impossible to determine the cause.

thank you for the reply. ill have to take it in, I took it in to a repair guy who said it was a peice of junk, and that samsungs are terrible tvs and he could not fix it. But i think he is full of it. this time ill take it into someone who speacializes in samsung tvs. I read somewhere that if there is a coolent leak from the tubes it could wack out or damage the inside board/components. so Ill open her up and check if the board looks or feels greesy or wet. but again thanks for the reply.
